What To Expect
Dreaming Drywall Services
From estimating out material and labor costs and figuring out the best methods for hanging drywall, to finishing with tape and mud, priming, and texturing, there is quite a bit to the process of installing and finishing drywall. Here is what you can expect from Dreaming Drywall.....

Clean & Firm Structure Installations
Hanging Drywall
A lot of the hanging aspects affects the quality of taping and mudding, as well as the painting finished results. The methods used in hanging will make all the difference in how well the finished results will resist cracking in the future, the quality of the finishing and painting, as well as the strength of the structure. Make sure that you are not just hiring someone that has the common sense to screw a piece of board onto studs, there is a lot more that is part of the picture here, hiring a contractor like me will save you time and money.

Floor and Environment Prep
Protecting the Environment
Part of drywall finishing is protecting the floors and environment from being covered in joint compound (mud), as this part of the process can get very messy. Covering the floors always provides for a easier clean-up at the end, as well as avoiding scratching and marking up the floors. Same thing for objects in the environment that may be to big to move out of the room during drywall installations.

Attention to High Quality
Drywall Finishing!
My favorite part of the job! A level 4 finish is what is included in a standard bid. This includes taping (inside corners, butt and tapered joints), 3 finish coats for butt and tapered joints as well as screws, coating around electrical boxes if needed, as well as sanding in between coats as needed, a final rough sand, and a final fine-tune sand if needed with touch-ups. At extra costs, I offer a level 4 plus finish (an extra coat over butt joints and screws and on flats if needed, used mostly on walls that will have no texture added) or a level 5 finish (the whole wall getting a skim coat to reduce imperfections in rooms with high lighting).

Dust & Wet Mopping
Prime & Texture Prep
To ensure a top quality priming and texturing finish, I dust mop and wet mop the walls and ceiling to eliminate obstacles that create imperfections.

A Suggestion For Texturing
Prime Coat
The drywall surface and the finished drywall compound (mud) are two different types of surfaces, which means posing a risk for visible seam for texture, as its possible the texture will dry differently on the two different surface types. This is why a prime coat is a recommendation, but not a requirement, before spraying texture. Applying a prime coat is more than just slapping primer on a wall. There are techniques and methods to avoid imperfections that will affect the finished results.

Icing on the Cake!
Texturing
There are quite a few options for that final application to making the job complete with the exception of the final coat of paint. My standard bids always include an orange peel, like in the picture to the right. Whether you want a light or heavy orange peel, the choice is yours. I do offer a knockdown texture at an additional price.
